The course Civil War Cooking: What the Confederate Soldiers Ate, scheduled to be held April 9, has been canceled due to low enrollment. Both the lecture class and field trip demonstration have been canceled.

The course D-Day and the Search for Madio Muratori, scheduled to be held April 1, has been canceled due to instructor availability.

The last class of the course Man's Fastest Friend: A History of Greyhounds and Humans will now be held starting at 9:30 AM, Friday, March 22, in B&E 140. The University was closed on March 15 due to watermain break, necessitating a re-schedule.

The Spiral takes its name from "Preparing for the Next Century — The Maturity Spiral," a talk given by Dr. Warner Montgomery, editor of the Columbia,SC, Star Reporter, at the Academy for Lifelong Learning's inaugural meeting on January 22, 1990. The Academy was one of the Center's predecessor organizations.
