Website Redesign

Posted: 5:26 AM 6/6/2026
Some time in July we will roll out the new design for this website, complete with the schedule of courses for the fall semester. The redesign was guided by modern standards and feedback from you, our students and users, via a survey we emailed to our public mailing list. If you were one of the 115 who responded to the survey, thank you. You overwhelmingly said we should redesign to improve readability and usability. You can read a summary of the survey results here and see a mockup of the new home page here.

New Agreement

On January 11, 2024, a ceremony was held in Room 144 of the B&E Building on the campus of USCA to sign a new agreement between the Center for Lifelong Learning and the University of South Carolina Aiken. Under the agreement, the Center becomes a program of the university. Heretofore, the Center was an independent, volunteer-run organization with strong ties to the university.

Students attending the Center's courses will perceive little difference in its courses, programs, and operation. The Center volunteers will continue to develop the curriculum and staff the classes. The primary changes will be behind-the-scenes, reflected in the administration of the organization.

The ceremony was attended by the staff of USCA's Office of External Programs and most of the Board of Directors (Vice-president, Publicity Chair, and Webmaster absent) of the Center. See list of attendees at bottom of page.

Remarks were made by Dr. Daniel Heimmermann, Chancellor of USCA, and Raleigh Daniel, President of the Center for Lifelong Learning. See picture below.

The remarks were followed by formally signing the new agreement.
